Glamping, Camping & Yurts!
What’s Glamping? Can I come Camping? What on earth are Yurts?
Glamping is the word we use to describe the way people can enjoy the great outdoors without having to put up a tent, sleep on the ground or sit on a camp chair unless you really want to. Here at Log Village & Grist Mill there are three sizes of yurts: a 30ft, a 24ft and two 20ft - see pictures below. Each will have beds to sleep in, a sofa to sit on, a DVD player, heater / fan and other electric mod cons to enjoy.
Camping is available here too. If you love tenting, then come and set up camp. We have a small campsite so it will be quiet.
What on earth are Yurts?
Modern Yurts are semi permanent tent structures made from wooden frames, strengthening cables and insulated canvas outer covers. They often have electricity and are made to withstand all weather including the heat of summer and the cold of winter. . Oh and they are circular.
The pictures below show how we envisage the yurts to look come summer. These images are kindly provided by Pacific Yurts © 2013 Pacific Yurts Inc. Cottage Grove, Oregon – www.yurts.com Please note these are not our yurts but they are similar.
Within the yurts there will be a basic simple kitchen area consisting of refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, a toaster oven, dinnerware etc. Bottled water is available to buy and there will be water fawcets available near the bathrooms and within the campsite. Bring your own bedding or rent your linens from us.
Bathrooms, washing up area, washing machine and dryer will be located a short distance from the yurts.
The pictures below are our yurts, that are currently having porches and decks built onto them. We have two large yurts with disabled access, one pet friendly yurt and two small but perfectly proportioned yurts. Check out the rates page.
